The Chairs That Carry the Craft

Long before a fade is finished or a beard is shaped, every service begins in the barber chair—a place where conversations unfold, trust is built, and generations return. Our collection includes chairs dating back as far as 1923—up to 103 years old—along with Belmont and Takara pieces built from the 1940s through the 1960s. Made with heavy steel, hydraulic bases, reclining mechanisms, and exceptional craftsmanship, they were designed to serve for decades. At The Art of Barbering, these chairs are not decorations. They are respected, working pieces of history, and every mark in the chrome carries part of the barbering tradition.

NUESTRA HISTORIA: DE SANTO DOMINGO A PROVIDENCE

La barbería nunca ha sido solo un corte de pelo. Durante generaciones, las barberías han sido lugares de confianza, conversación, mentoría y comunidad; una tradición que Wady Hernández experimentó por primera vez al crecer en los barrios de Villa Consuelo en Santo Domingo.

En esas barberías, un barbero hacía mucho más que dar forma al cabello y la barba. Escuchaba, aconsejaba, recordaba a las familias, celebraba los momentos importantes y ayudaba a la gente a salir con confianza. Wady llevó consigo esa comprensión del servicio, la disciplina y la maestría a Providence.

En 2017, inauguró The Art of Barbering para ofrecer a Rhode Island una barbería basada en esos valores. El local combina la tradición con técnicas modernas: degradados precisos, cortes clásicos, cuidado minucioso de la barba, toallas calientes y una atención personalizada a cada cliente. El objetivo siempre ha ido más allá de un simple corte de pelo: crear un espacio donde la gente se sienta bienvenida, respetada y orgullosa de su apariencia.

Hoy, Wady, Fabio, Alejandro y Manny continúan juntos con esa visión. Cada cita refleja la reputación que han forjado a base de constancia, profesionalismo y un trato genuino. Aquí, la tradición se une a la barbería moderna, y cada cliente es tratado como parte de la comunidad.
